In Villa Tittoni the first competition of 3D Mapping short movies branded Kernel Festival
Two days of audiovisual projections and thirteen contending artists
A unique event and an exciting digital arts show

Monza - Friday 27th of September, Kernel Mapping Cinema will be inaugurated in Villa Tittoni Traversi, Desio. It will be the first festival/competition related to Audiovisual 3D Mapping, the video-projection technique which redraws architecture elements, creating spectacular optical illusions.
Since 2005 AreaOdeon has specialized in the production of multimedia projects, and audiovisual 3D Mappings in particular, which enhance places of historical, artistic and architectural value. This year AreaOdeon presents a unique event inspired by the success of the first two editions of Kernel Festival, the international festival of digital and multimedia arts produced in Villa Tittoni Traversi in Desio. Kernel Mapping Cinema is part of the initiative Ville Aperte in Brianza, in collaboration with Provincia di Monza e Brianza (Province) and Città di Desio (Municipality), with the support of Regione Lombardia (Region) and Ministero dei Beni e le Attività Culturali e del Turismo (Ministry).
For two days the park in front of the Villa will turn into a real cinema, and the imposing façade of Piermarini (1776) will become the big screen on which short films realized by worldwide famous artists and young talents will be projected. These projects have been selected among hundreds of proposals received from all over the world, and gathered by the Kernel Platform in the past three years, and specifically made for Villa Tittoni and its south façade.
A unique opportunity to enjoy the historical and picturesque architecture in a new, and exciting way, but also to get to know and appreciate one of the most innovative artistic languages of contemporary art. Moreover, an unprecedented international experience that explores the possible connections between cinematography and Audiovisual Mapping.

Thirteen are the competing artists and collectives from Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Greece: LUCA AGNANI, INSYNCHLAB, KANAKA PROJECT, JULIEN NOYER, PARADIGME, ANDREA GIANSANTI, LUCKYASSEMBLER, STEREOCHROME, THETIS, VIDEO ANIMAZIONI VIVE, OUCHHH, NOBU_LAB.
Three are the works out of competition realized by international renowned artists: TELENOIKA, ROBERTO FAZIO, AREAODEON.
A Jury and the audience will establish and award the best short films.

Every day there will be two sessions of projections, at 8.30 p.m. and at 11.15 p.m.
