KERNEL FESTIVAL /011 : the sound of art, the vision of music
Villa Tittoni Traversi, Desio, July 1-3, 2011

Kernel Festival / 011 will be an unprecedented event in Italy: three days and two nights full of art, music, performances, workshops, meetings, images and sounds, in a magical and extraordinary location. From July 1st to 3rd Villa Tittoni Traversi in Desio will host an international event dedicated to the multiform languages of contemporary art:
Interactive & Digital Art
Audiovisual Mapping
Electronic Sound & Music
Temporary Architecture

This first edition will involve renowned international artists with a music program and spectacular audiovisual performances that will enliven the evenings, the Villa and its park with unique atmospheres. On stage also the emerging talents selected through open calls by international committees among more than 250 participants from 39 different countries all over the world.

The Festival is a multi-disciplinary reality, in which art and music, performers and audience, past, present and future combine themselves, in a unique three-day event. It will be a perfect mix of music and visual arts, to involve all senses in the artistic expression; a blend of tradition and contemporary, thanks to the neoclassical Villa Tittoni Traversi, the Eighteenth-Century jewel in the heart of Brianza where the Festival will take place. A perfect union between important cutting-edge artists and representatives of the electronic scene and emerging talents, carefully selected by international committees, who will have the opportunity to show their potential on stage to the public of the Festival.

In these days the early tickets are available on Vivaticket web site, at a special price and in limited quantity. Each early ticket includes one free drink and the adoption of 200 pixels, which will contribute to create an original and great project. The pixels will be fill by images chosen by the public, which will be projected onto the facade of the Villa to form a "neoclassic-pixel-patchwork" that will floodlight the architecture of sparks and colors.

The project is promoted by cultural association AreaOdeon with the patronage of Provincia di Monza e Brianza, the collaboration of Comune di Desio and the support of Banca Popolare di Milano. The Festival also involves a varied group of national and international partners (Università IULM, Hangar.org, a Catalan cultural center, and Bitforms Gallery, a New York art gallery), media partners (Digicult, online publishing platform, InSound Magazine and Centostazioni) and technical sponsors (Covre Manufatture, MX Group, Over the Rainbow and Clonk).
